Yummy o's, They're yummmmy.. and you'll love em!

The first technique that we used to make our cereal box was the “cute celebrities”. The reason we used this technique is because it appeals to all the little kids. It catches the eyes of the kids when they see cute cartoon characters. Cereal boxes that don’t have any cartoons or toys in or on the box usually catch the attention of older people, because littler kids would probably think its boring and want something else more exiting or interesting. All kids like watching cartoons and because there favorite cartoon character is on a cereal box, they would be more interested in trying and eating it.

The second Technique that we used to make our box was the “amazing toys”. The reason we used this technique is because the children will want the little toy inside. When a kid goes and buys cereal and they see that it says free toy inside they will want to buy the cereal for the toy. Cereal boxes that have toys and cartoons on them always have a better chance of getting bought. Kids want to see that they can get free toys with the cereal so they can play as they eat. Cereal boxes with toys in them are more eye catching towards little kids.

Alcohol and tobacco ads

I think that the reason alcohol and tobacco advertising is such a hot topic because it shows the people watching that it helps you relax from a lot of stress, and it shows that it you will have fun. But the thing is, they dont show all the reality to it.You dont see the comercials showing the disadvantages of drinking and smoking, like harming your health, or getting addicted and messing up your life. The advertisments are usually funny, or they show that the people doing it are having fun and becoming more social. They usually make the advertisments catch the eyes of the people watching. Someone watching that wants more friends and to become more social is probably more likely to use alcohol and smoking to do that. It sends out the message that its cool to smoke and drink and that everyone is doing it, when thats not the case.I think that it sends out the wrong messages of what smoking and drinking can do.

The video we watched about the internet and making sure you stay safe when being on the computer was, to me, very interesting. I thought it gave a good point to all parents to make sure that your kid is not abusing the internet and doing things they shouldnt be doing. I think that the video also gave a good point to kids that they really have to watch the things they put on the internet because anyone can get that information. I thought that the thirteen year old boy that commited suicide was really sad, and the fact his family didnt have a clue that was going on.Also the "friend" that basicly supported him doing it,and saying "It's about time". Internet bullying happens all the time, and I think that those people doing that, need to realize, that the things they are doing can really affect that person. I also feel that kids all over need to learn that it might happen to them and how to deal with it, without taking it too personally. I thought that it was a good point that people who bully people on the internet, usually only do that, but would never say anything to their faces. The internet is an easy way for people to bully people and to find out information about, basicly, anything. For example,the two people on the video, how to become anerexic and how to kill yourself.

Urban legend

My favorite urban legend that I heard of is the Paulding light. This is a story about a guy that was killed when he was crushed between two railroad cars.This is my favorite one becasue i actually visited the paulding light and seen it.Its hard to believe thats the true reason why it actually happens, but its been going on for so long and no one knows why. In the Upper Peninsula a light every night of a latern appears above the trees where the track used to be,where he died. People have tried to follow the light but they never find anything that could have caused it.Ripleys Believe it or not offered $100,000 to someone that could explain the light. It was first founded by a group of teenagers. They think that it was headlights of cars driving on a hill, but they blocked off the roads and it still appeared. It has been going on since the start of the 20th century.

Blogging

So far I think blogging is a really fun way to say our opinions and how we feel to certain things.I like saying my opinion about things but I can write about them better than speaking about them out loud, so I think this is a good idea. I like how we can read about other peoples blogs and see what their opinions are on things too. I had fun making my blogger page and putting stuff on it. Its a easier and more interesting way of doing assignments and putting them on here. Ive had Mr.Hughes before, so ive done blogs in the past and i really liked how they work and how they were done. I also think blogs will help other people see different sides of situations and how others feel about stuff, so they can learn from it.

Media Violence

To me media violence is something that the media uses to make movies, video games, and the news more exiting and interesting. It catches the attention and the eyes of the people who see or play it but it also affects the way that people think and feel to certain situations. For example, if on the news all they show is stories about violence and people getting killed and killing other people, the people that read that may become feared that something like that may happen to them or their family. With video games, it makes the games more fun and challenging but it also affects the way people think, just like the news, it may make someone more aggressive or scared. A lot of video games make it seem like, to be masculine, you have to be strong, tough, and let nothing get in your way.
